What is there to see and do in the area?The Bank's prime location in the South side of Glasgow makes it a great venue to visit after a day of experiencing all that Glasgow has to offer, or for a spot of lunch in between.The Bank is only a 5 minute car journey away from Hampden Park Stadium, the home ground of the Scotland football team and the venue for many music concerts. It also houses the Scotland Football Museum - making The Bank the perfect place to head for a meal or a drink afterwards. Apart from lots of Retail Therapy in Princes Square, Buchanan Galleries and surrounding streets, there's lots to see and do in the City Centre. Glasgow Cathedral is one of Scotland's architectural treasures. The only building to survive the reformation of 1560 intact. Next to the cathedral is the Provand's Lordship - the oldest house in Glasgow which dates back to 1471. Glasgow's finest example of 19th century architectural excellence has to be the Glasgow City Chambers where free tours are available every day from 10.30am. For a true taste of culture in the southside - visit the private art collection of Sir William Burrell housed within The Burrell Collection Museum. With over 9000 artworks collected from all over the world, this stunning building set in Glasgow's Pollok Park ( European Park of the Year) is not to be missed.
